I Give You My Heart”.
Un manifesto d’amore e connessione: “I Give You My Heart”
Between Marbles, Hands, and Hearts: My Morning of Art in Venice at the Contini Gallery
There are mornings in Venice when simply walking is an aesthetic experience in itself. This morning was one of those: the crisp air, the light caressing the historic bricks, and the simple desire to get lost among the calli and canals of the lagoon city. But as we know, Venice is a labyrinth of wonders, and it only takes turning the right corner to find yourself face-to-face with an unexpected artistic love at first sight.
As I headed towards Calle Larga XXII Marzo (in the beating heart of the San Marco district), my eyes caught the windows of the Contini Art Gallery. It takes only a few seconds to unmistakably recognize the touch of an artist I deeply love: Lorenzo Quinn. Impossible to resist. I felt that visceral pull that only great art can provoke, so I crossed the gallery’s threshold to immerse myself in his solo exhibition entitled: “I Give You My Heart”.
A Manifesto of Love and Connection: “I Give You My Heart”
Entering this exhibition is like stepping inside the human soul. Quinn, the son of an artist (born in Rome to Anthony Quinn and Iolanda Addolori), has made hands his universal alphabet. Not simple sculptures in bronze, wood, steel, or resin, but true instruments of an emotional grammar. The works on display in Venice – which can be visited until November 2026 – are an invitation to slow down, to disconnect from daily frenzy, and to rediscover empathy. Among the pieces that struck me the most is the very work that gives the exhibition its name, I Give You My Heart: an explosion of forms where hands offer a heart, reminding us that the gift of oneself and mutual trust are the only true antidotes to the fractures of our time.
Strolling through the halls of the Contini Gallery, I was captivated by other extraordinary works such as Parallel Universe and infinite love (2024), or other creations such as Soul to soul (2025) and Together Egypt day and night (2023). In each of them, Quinn succeeds in making the invisible visible: deep bonds, vulnerability, and the strength of sharing. If you happen to be in Venice these months, treat yourself: take a stroll down Calle Larga XXII Marzo, in the San Marco district, and stop by the Contini Gallery. Let yourself be captured by Lorenzo Quinn’s monumental hands and hearts: I promise you will walk out with a different perspective on the world and, perhaps, an extra heartbeat in your chest.
